Rory’s concept developed as a result of a new yoga class she began teaching this semester. She chose to launch "Broga" through this post because it highlights the benefits of yoga for men while persuading the audience to attend the class.
Her audience is generally men who are interested in yoga but may feel intimidated by a traditional classroom space dominated by individuals with greater access to advanced poses. She wanted the post to convey a judgment-free, supportive environment for men trying yoga. She believes this concept will be effective because it uses humor and a relaxed style to show the lighthearted nature of the class. She intentionally avoided an overly intense appearance—such as serif fonts or images of people doing difficult poses—to make the class feel accessible to beginners. Her playful tone is balanced with the reverence she holds for the practice of yoga and the benefits it provides.
